I was sifting through the memories I have of the last few years and randomly recalled a run-in with a particular guy who I think just might be one of the fakest people I ever met.

Before I go on, I just want to point out that I am not bothered or upset by the memory at this point, at most it just baffles me for a moment when I recall the events

Lets see. Time to use this whole "I'm a guy thing" to try and understand this guy. My first guess was something you said, he was disappointed from the start and turned that into enthusiasm, if not just to not be rude. Perhaps he really DID like it at first, but after the first impression left, something just felt wrong? Perhaps you or he did something that just made him so uncomfortable that he felt the need to just get out of there? Perhaps he was really, really shallow and saw something that he couldn't live with (even if it was amazingly minor).
