Yoko is cute cute. Everyone is mad protective of Soma and it's adorable. Except Julius, he's still being a creepy grandfather figure. But at least he's ready for the rodeo.

Also, belatedly: I wouldn't worry too much about overleveling. While I'm sure it's quite possible, DoS's bosses are, on average, quite a bit harder than AoS's. There were actually a few places where I had to hang back and make a few levels to take the TWITCHING IN FRUSTRATION element out of the game.

Although that's mostly due to the MAGIC CIRCLES

But, yes, there are like... Three bosses, and possibly four or five, that can be great big bitches unless you have a really good soul set, cheated and made the Claim Solais, or leveled your ass up.

So, in conclusion, getting souls is fun!

Yeah- and Soma seems a hell of a lot more fragile this time around to boot. I actually had to gulp up a few potions to take Balore out 'cause he kept doing tons of damage to me.

Did you care much for the crystal busting that comes with Balore Soul? It's cool and all for a while, but my Stylus doesn't have a connector to the DS- so I hate having to dig it out from it's little holster every time I need to solve something :P.

I always whipped out the stylus, too. :( I kept it slightly out of its case in the back of the system, and just WHOOOOOOSHED over to it whenever I needed to draw a magic circle.

FUCKING MAGIC CIRCLES

It's a pain. You can attach the little cord with the plastic nub onto your DS, and use that as a quick-draw thing, but it's really shitty for DoS. It works for games where all you need to do is a quick tap, but DoS's is too accuracy-based. So, stylus it is! WHEE

Balore's crystal-shattering is a fucking waste, though. There's only one room in the entire game where you use it. z.z So, don't worry too much about having to jump to the stylus, except for bosses.

They should let you place crystals in the little mini-stages so you can force your friends to fight bosses without being able to move. Hell, then that'd be pretty stupid.

At least I know now that I only have to draw it out during boss fights anymore.
