I like the bad science fiction effect with alternate history and air ships. When you get down it it, I like the background better then the characters. Also the bad vampires are more interesting, dull as the characters are. Not very original. I'm getting a little tired of teen vampire angst meet HG Wells. Wells did it so much better. I agree with the ratings

I think that sums it up. It could have been a really good book, but it was only average.

I'll have a look for the other book.
