That horrible feeling....

.... when you realise that you missed something from your back up before a full HD wipe and reinstall.

So many stories lost, including my detailed outline for Sins of the Fathers.

I went to reinstall my writing software and once I'd done so I looked for the back up of the files only to realise I hadn't done one.

As well as the Sins outline. I've lost a lot of planning for original stories and a fair few outlines for other unpublished HP stuff.

If I'd been writing more recently I might have noticed.

There's a sequence of events at the end of Sins that took me ages to work out and I cant for the life of me remember it. The other version of the outline doesn't have it (its an older version) so, yeah, it really stinks.

Life goes on though.
