Vol.12 Ch.6 - Ch.7
::dead of laughter:: The love advice the Anesans (yakuza for older sister) gave Kumiko were priceless. They were so hilariously violent, and made the tedious Kumiko/Shinohara and one-sided Shin/Kumiko stuff worth it.
Vol.12 Ch.8 - Ch.9
The flashback cover on Ch.8 with young!Kumiko, young!Tetsu, and young!Minoru getting ready to play soccer sumo is so adorable.
On the Ch.9 cover: That's not Kumiko, and yet...whoa. The sunglasses! The gloves! The machine gun! The slouchy, aggressive posture! The flash of belly button. The clothes are sleek, sexy, and dangerous and while it is pretty eye candy, it fails to capture Kumiko's adorkable awesomeness.
On the actual story: This is why I don't want to watch the jdrama, because I heard they cut out stuff from Kumiko's yakuza life, like this episode. Kumiko is adorkable tough love, so rough in her affection. She wrestled Tetsu and Minoru and made them work up a sweat playing sumo soccer. Aw. We also get some Tetsu backstory, and a romanticization of the yakuza as a rough, criminal family style organization that takes in abandoned children.
Vol.12 Ch.10
I'm meh on the comic team up of Shin and the dog.
Vol.13 Ch.1
We're back to the chairman who wants to get Shirokin closed down, and Kumiko fired.
LOL. Of course that's who would actually be Shirokin representatives for the PTA and the Alumni Association. Argh! Why did it have to end in a cliffhanger for Kumiko's career?
