Still uneasy over "After School Nightmare".
My library had the first volume of After School Nightmare, I keep reading good reviews of the series on LJ, so I decided to pick it up again even though parts of it made me uneasy. Kit Whitfield blogged about Macho Sue, which s/he considers a variant separate from Mary Sue/Gary Stu because Macho Sue's speshul snowflake status is derived primarily from his, well, macho asshole behavior.

A while ago, I read worldserpent's post listing all the anime/manga series with female protagonists s/he liked. It was in reaction to mistful's post on some reasons why people find it hard to like female characters, and on some of the comments to the post. Obama WINS!
It felt too good to be true, and didn't start sinking in until I heard McCain giving his concession speech. I'll be checking the news first thing in the morning, and Obama still better be the next U.S. president. -

Anyone have any thoughts on what Cameron's retelling of the brothers of Nablus has to do with this ep?
