It reminds me of my experience with Aeroflot, in which we were handed dry crackers and a foil-wrapped package about the size and shape of a gum eraser, marked "Russian Cheese". I have no idea whether it was supposed to resemble Swiss or Cheddar or what; it might well have been a Russian gum eraser repackaged as cheese. It might have been both.
