kyuhyun isn't good at keeping promises. [drabble]
kyuhyun is walking around the campus when he bumps into someone by accident, and his apologies immediately flood out of his mouth before he is stricken quiet by the other boy's worldly presence and the beautiful smile on his face.
"i'm donghae." he says, and holds his hand out to shake. kyuhyun shoots him a cautious look before taking his hand and introducing himself.
"kyu?"
the said person turns to face donghae, who's lying beside him on the grass, arms behind his head and eyes on the clouds that move above them.
"yes, hyung?"
"will you ever forget me?"
"no," is kyuhyun's automatic answer. "you're unforgettable. i can't."
"promise?"
"of course."
kyuhyun doesn't remember anything after he blacks out. he just processes that he's in a room, in a bed, with bandages and gauzes everywhere, and everything is white. his hand is being held by a male - very good looking, kyuhyun thinks - and noises suddenly fill the room when the male realizes he's woken up (kyuhyun assumes).
"who are you?" his question comes out raspy because his throat is dry.
he never gets an answer because the doctors come in.
kyuhyun is sitting by the window watching raindrops when he sees someone outside in the rain, looking up at him. he tilts his head toward the window to see if he could get a better view, but the rain blurs his vision and he just sees a blob of black and white. through one of the clear spots, he sees the person's face turn tearful before they walk away defeated.
kyuhyun leans his head against the cool glass, wondering why the stranger is so familiar.
