It was... beautiful. It was wonderful and ethereal and so, so beautiful. The confidence that was Zexion, the pure joy that was Demyx... and then the moment when Demyx explained his heart and Zexion's confidence crumbled. I nearly cried when his heart cracked down the center. That moment was so real.

The hint of Akuroku was also made of win. <3

I think I've heard of this story before, but your adaptation is beautiful and well-executed that even though I knew of the twist about to come, I was still eagerly waiting for it! Very, very touching.

I really like your portrayal of Demyx. He's mature, he's still somewhat cheery and optimistic, and he's just so Demyx. It's just so nice to see him being the one to enlighten Zexion on something, for once!

Heh, yeah, I tend to think of Demyx that way - he can be mature, but he knows how to have fun and likes life better that way. Zexion doesn't have all the answers~ just most of 'em. :3 And oh damn now I wanna go kick Demyx's cute little tush in KH2 again. Gaaah. *runs off to play*

Seriously? O_o I remember I heard this story about a young man who had the most beautiful heart in the world, so red and so complete. And then one day while everyone was gathering around him and praising his beautiful heart, an old man appeared and said that while the young man's heart was beautiful to look at, it was also very bland and boring. Incited, the young man asked to see the old man's heart, and he snorted and laughed when he saw the rough and rugged heart that had cracks, pieces torn and cut and sewn, all in different colours and shades. It was only when he realized that the scars were a result of the old man's life journey (losing someone he loved, finding important in his heart, exchanging parts of their hearts, that the young man yielded and proclaimed it the most beautiful heart. And then he cut out a part of his heart to exchange with a part of the old man's.

I have never heard of this fairytale before. but I really liked this! when Demyx explained to Zexion why his heart was 'deformed', everything made perfect sense. and like everyone else, when the crack appeared in Zexion's heart. . . something just seemed to clench at MY heart. it's an interesting concept, isn't it? being able to see your heart. anyway, great fic. =) I'm gonna go to bed now.
