"How's China?" Baekhyun starts after Tao meets his friends 3 days later upon returning back in Seoul. Tao swallows his cake then smiles at his friend, "It's fine. We broke up for a day."
"You two managed to break up even there? How many times have you broken up in the last 8 months?" Kyungsoo asks amused. Tao pouts and thinks, "This would be our fifth."
"You break up like it's nothing. You break up for the simplest of things." Luhan tells him, "That's scary, Tao."
"We always end patching things up, anyway." Tao shrugs like it's nothing. From the first time they broke up because of Luhan until the incident with Qing, they've separated briefly because of trivial matters: Kris accidentally got bleach stains on Tao's black shirt, Tao broke one of Kris' trophies, and Tao saw Nana and Kris in a cafe once - not knowing that Nana is actually introducing Kris to her boyfriend. All breakups are initiated by Tao, and Kris ends up lowering his pride just so they can fix everything. "We're okay."
"That's unhealthy. Tao, one day, Kris might blow up and never come back..." Kyungsoo comments and Tao turns grim, "It's not like we're not serious, hyung. There are just times we don't talk about our problems. We fight, we make up and we forget our conflicts."
"You should talk once in a while. Sehun and I fought a lot, but we don't break up because we think we can." Luhan tells Tao and the youngest sighs, "Yeah. Ok. Can we change the subject now?"
"Right! So, we're three weeks into our summer vacation and we have a month and a week left, what are the plans? I mean, do we even have plans? Like... You've all gone to your respective vacations." Baekhyun pipes up and the other three with him thinks, "Well, Kai and I have no plans as of yet, and he's not planning on anything solo so I guess whatever you guys want."
"Sehun will say ok whatever I say anyway." Luhan laughs and the rest joins him, "How about you, Tao?"
"I'd have to ask Kris since he's starting with his job next week already."
"Ah right. There's no Tao without Kris." Baekhyun comments and Tao laughs it off bitterly.
Tao returns home a little later after 7 and finds Kris taking a nap on the couch, "Babe, transfer to the bedroom..." He coos and Kris grunts. He pulls Tao and the younger lands on his chest, "You're late..." The blond mumbles against his ear and Tao chuckles, "It's only 7:30. Have you had dinner?"
"Had takeouts." Kris responds without opening his eyes, Tao hums and kisses his fiance, "You look exhausted. What did you do while I'm gone?"
"Adult stuff. Police clearance, visa renewal, social security... I have so much to do before I start work next week."

"Thanks, babe." Kris smiles and leans across the table to kiss Tao in the mouth. "I'll be home late, maybe. I'll have to drop by the city hall to check other things I need before I get started."
"I thought I can have you for the rest of the week, at least."
"It's for our future."

"The guys are planning on a trip."

"Well, if you're planning to go out, text or call me. I'll call you if I'll make it to dinner, too."

"Alright." Kris smiles and kisses Tao swiftly on the lips before leaving the apartment. The young Chinese sighs and looks at the apartment, it's weird. It's really different when he's alone. He's already had a lot of months with Kris inside this place, they're always together and even in silent companionship, they're never apart. "It's a change, it's a good change. You'll get used to it, Huang Zitao. Time to act like an engaged 20-year old." He tells himself before deciding to clean the entire apartment.

"Yeah. But you have to come back after a week. I need you with me."

The group ends up talking about their plans and eventually, Kris, Minseok, Yixing, Chanyeol, and Jongdae bails out. The remaining people starts talking about their itenerary while Joonmyun books their tickets.
"Are you sure you're not coming?" Baekhyun whines next to Chanyeol and his boyfriend nods. "Why?"
"I told you already. My sister just gave birth and mom wants me home. I had to bargain until after you left before I can go back and help with things there."
Baekhyun kicks his feet, "But..."

Chanyeol and Kris yelps, Tao raises an eyebrow, "Host club?"

"What's a host club?" Tao asks and the rest of his friends look at him warily, "Please, answer me!"

"Yes. And I trust you to keep your eyes on Baekhyun. If a host even tries to talk to Tao, I will murder every one of you when you get back."
"I'll be in Australia by then."

Joonmyun nods his head and agrees to be Tao's guardian for the trip.
"Are you guys sleeping over?" Sehun asks and there's a collective 'yes'. He scoffs and holds out his hand, "Money for tonight's dinner. I am not feeding 10 other people inside this apartment."
The group groans and hands him 5000 won each. Once he's collected enough, he grabs Luhan - Kyungsoo and Jongin joins them - and they take off to buy them all dinner.
Dinner is pizza, friend chicken, and more beer. By the time it's almost midnight, most of them are passed out everywhere in the apartment. "At home." Kris smiles and cups Tao's face so they can kiss more. The younger kisses back, and he knows that Kris is trying to distract himself from whatever is bothering him right now. Kris hums and turns his head so that he's faced with Tao's stomach. "I just realized that we're facing major changes in our lives. By Monday."

"I know, I'm sorry." Kris wraps an arm around Tao's waist. The younger runs his fingers through his fiance's hair, "Don't be sorry. It's okay to be scared. Both of us. I'm sure we'll be okay."

Monday comes faster than it should have especially since Tao decided to wake up at 4 am to prepare Kris' breakfast and lunch. His fiance is to wake up in 2 hours which gives the younger plenty of time to prepare a hearty meal for his lover's first day on the job.
He's done by 5:30 so he decides to wake Kris up earlier than he should. "Breakfast, old man." He shakes Kris and the blond grunts. "Wake up, my love."

Tao chuckles and leans down to kiss his fiance, "Are you awake now, Aurora?"

Tao kisses him again and drags him out of the bedroom. They share breakfast together with Tao on Kris' lap. "You're gonna be awesome. I'm sure of it." Tao encourages his lover as he sips on his orange juice, Kris hums in response.
"I'm a little scared. The mayor is already planning out his rerun for candidacy for next year's election and I'm sure I'm already piled up with work."
"You're Kris Wu. What could go wrong?" Tao kisses his cheek, "You're my Superman and I'm sure you can do everything."
"Does that make you my Lois Lane?"
Tao chuckles, "I could be your Kryptonite, too."
"That you are." Kris kisses Tao's shoulder and continues with his breakfast. "I'm working with Lee Jinki. He's the Senior Political Analyst and he already briefed me about some things I need to know."
"Is he married?"
"He's living together with his partner, Kibum."

"I work 30 minutes away from here. It's only 6:15."

Kris leaves by 7 in the morning, leaving Tao with a number of kisses and a promise to be back before dinner. The younger returns to bed, hoping to sleep the day away so he'd wake up and it's time for Kris to come home.
Only he wakes up an hour before lunch. He groans and checks his phone with two messages from Kris.

Too early. :( Could have spent more time with you. Table is piled with brown envelopes already and I am side-eyeing them. I need another cup of coffee just to open one of them.

"How's his first day?"
Tao shrugs, "It isn't any different from what we do. I wake up early to prepare our breakfast and lunch but this time I end up alone at home for now."
"Are you ready for more changes in both your lives?" Baekhyun asks and Tao nods. "I'm still a bit scared but of course, I'm sure we'll pull through."
"Has Joonmyun called you? We leave in two days."
"I need to go shopping!"
"Just buy in Tokyo."
Tao shakes his head, "No. Not that kind of shopping. I need to buy him food that he can microwave. I can't let my fiance starve."
Baekhyun pouts and sighs, "Fiance..."
Tao raises an eyebrow, "Is something wrong between you and Chanyeol?"
Baekhyun shakes his head, "We're fine. I'm just... A little jealous that you're engaged and the both of us haven't even talked about moving together."
Tao takes a sip of his soda and the shorter male continues, "We don't have to be engaged, I just think I want to live with him too. Like Luhan and Sehun, moreso you and Kris."
"Well, Luhan and Sehun are roommates by default before they hooked up. Kris and I moved in by convenience, too. Kyungsoo isn't moving in with Kai so I guess it doesn't leave you out not living with his partner..."
Baekhyun sighs, "Well, at least they've talked about it. Kai's been bugging Kyungsoo to move in with him for months!"
"Maybe when he's ready. Chanyeol can be very meticulous about these things."
"I hope so."
Tao smiles, "You're both gonna be fine. If anything, I'm sure the both of you can work it out."
Baekhyun smiles and continues to eat. A few minutes later the younger's phone rings and he excuses himself from the table.
"Hey, my love..."
'Hi. Babe, I might come home a little late. Don't wait up.'
Tao pouts, "Okay... I'm also out with Baekhyun. We leave in two days so I'm gonna go and do some grocery shopping for you."
'Alright. I have to go back to the seminar. I love you.'

Tao ends up staying out a bit late after shopping with Baekhyun and arrives back home around 8 in the evening. He notices that the whole apartment is dark and he can hear light snores inside the living room. Carefully tiptoeing around the room, he turns on the desk lamp to find Kris sleeping on the couch - his tie loosened, his coat on the arm rest, and a few buttons opened on his dress shirt.
Tao smiles lovingly at his fiance before silently making his way to the kitchen to put his groceries away; he'll cook tomorrow. Thank goodness Baekhyun and him decided to eat something after shopping or he'll feel bad eating alone while his exhausted partner sleeps uncomfortably on the couch.
He trudges his way back into the living room and shakes Kris' shoulder, "Let's go to bed."
"Okay..." Kris opens his eyes lazily and holds Tao's hand. "I was waiting for you, too."
Tao squeezes his fiance's hand in response. The both of them lies down on the bed, Kris pulling Tao to his chest and kisses the younger's forehead, "We'll shower tomorrow... Tonight let's just sleep."
"Of course." Tao kisses Kris shoulder before burying himself on the older's chest, "Love you."

"Alright." Kris smiles and kisses Tao swiftly on the lips before leaving the apartment. The young Chinese sighs and looks at the apartment, it's weird. It's really different when he's alone. The group groans and hands him 5000 won each. Once he's collected enough, he grabs Luhan - Kyungsoo and Jongin joins them - and they take off to buy them all dinner.
Dinner is pizza, friend chicken, and more beer. By the time it's almost midnight, most of them are passed out everywhere in the apartment. "At home." Kris smiles and cups Tao's face so they can kiss more. The younger kisses back, and he knows that Kris is trying to distract himself from whatever is bothering him right now. "I know, I'm sorry." Kris wraps an arm around Tao's waist. The younger runs his fingers through his fiance's hair, "Don't be sorry. It's okay to be scared. Both of us. I'm sure we'll be okay."

Monday comes faster than it should have especially since Tao decided to wake up at 4 am to prepare Kris' breakfast and lunch. His fiance is to wake up in 2 hours which gives the younger plenty of time to prepare a hearty meal for his lover's first day on the job.
He's done by 5:30 so he decides to wake Kris up earlier than he should. "Breakfast, old man." He shakes Kris and the blond grunts. "Wake up, my love."

Tao chuckles and leans down to kiss his fiance, "Are you awake now, Aurora?"
Kris opens his eyes lazily and sits up, "I'm not a princess."
Tao kisses him again and drags him out of the bedroom. They share breakfast together with Tao on Kris' lap. "You're gonna be awesome. I'm sure of it." Tao encourages his lover as he sips on his orange juice, Kris hums in response.
"I'm a little scared. The mayor is already planning out his rerun for candidacy for next year's election and I'm sure I'm already piled up with work."
"You're Kris Wu. What could go wrong?" Tao kisses his cheek, "You're my Superman and I'm sure you can do everything."
"Does that make you my Lois Lane?"

"That you are." Kris kisses Tao's shoulder and continues with his breakfast. "I'm working with Lee Jinki. He's the Senior Political Analyst and he already briefed me about some things I need to know."
"Is he married?"
"He's living together with his partner, Kibum."

"I don't want you working closely with anybody else when I'm not around."

"Love you." Tao kisses the top of Kris' head, "Now shower. Go! Or you'll be late."
"I work 30 minutes away from here. It's only 6:15."
"Shower. Now."

Kris leaves by 7 in the morning, leaving Tao with a number of kisses and a promise to be back before dinner. The younger returns to bed, hoping to sleep the day away so he'd wake up and it's time for Kris to come home.
Only he wakes up an hour before lunch. He groans and checks his phone with two messages from Kris.

"Are you ready for more changes in both your lives?" Baekhyun asks and Tao nods. "I'm still a bit scared but of course, I'm sure we'll pull through."
"Has Joonmyun called you? We leave in two days."
"I need to go shopping!"
"Just buy in Tokyo."
Tao shakes his head, "No. Not that kind of shopping. I need to buy him food that he can microwave. I can't let my fiance starve."
Baekhyun pouts and sighs, "Fiance..."
Tao raises an eyebrow, "Is something wrong between you and Chanyeol?"
Baekhyun shakes his head, "We're fine. I'm just... A little jealous that you're engaged and the both of us haven't even talked about moving together."
Tao takes a sip of his soda and the shorter male continues, "We don't have to be engaged, I just think I want to live with him too. Like Luhan and Sehun, moreso you and Kris."
"Well, Luhan and Sehun are roommates by default before they hooked up. Kris and I moved in by convenience, too. Kyungsoo isn't moving in with Kai so I guess it doesn't leave you out not living with his partner..."
Baekhyun sighs, "Well, at least they've talked about it. Kai's been bugging Kyungsoo to move in with him for months!"
"Maybe when he's ready. Chanyeol can be very meticulous about these things."

Tao smiles, "You're both gonna be fine. If anything, I'm sure the both of you can work it out."
Baekhyun smiles and continues to eat. A few minutes later the younger's phone rings and he excuses himself from the table.

'Hi. Babe, I might come home a little late. Don't wait up.'
Tao pouts, "Okay... I'm also out with Baekhyun. We leave in two days so I'm gonna go and do some grocery shopping for you."
'Alright. I have to go back to the seminar. I love you.'

Tao ends up staying out a bit late after shopping with Baekhyun and arrives back home around 8 in the evening. He notices that the whole apartment is dark and he can hear light snores inside the living room. Carefully tiptoeing around the room, he turns on the desk lamp to find Kris sleeping on the couch - his tie loosened, his coat on the arm rest, and a few buttons opened on his dress shirt.
Tao smiles lovingly at his fiance before silently making his way to the kitchen to put his groceries away; he'll cook tomorrow. Thank goodness Baekhyun and him decided to eat something after shopping or he'll feel bad eating alone while his exhausted partner sleeps uncomfortably on the couch.
He trudges his way back into the living room and shakes Kris' shoulder, "Let's go to bed."
"Okay..." Kris opens his eyes lazily and holds Tao's hand. "I was waiting for you, too."
Tao squeezes his fiance's hand in response. The both of them lies down on the bed, Kris pulling Tao to his chest and kisses the younger's forehead, "We'll shower tomorrow... Tonight let's just sleep."
"Of course." Tao kisses Kris shoulder before burying himself on the older's chest, "Love you."
"Love you."
