Tomorrow is the beginning of the end. I give my Aurors some instruction, then set them loose on London armed with legal Unforgiveables. I'll wont be surprised if the streets start weeping blood.
I wish I could have kept Shacklebolt out of work for longer. Not that I actually have anything to complain about in terms of his work, it's more his general demeanor. I know that state of mind. I remember it well. Remember? Ha. I never really came out of it. I can't help but get a feeling of deja vu every time I look at him; it's like a mirror of my past. I think it helps that he has something this struggle to focus his mind on. For me the trouble was that the revenge part of it all took so little time. It was what came after that was worse - everything seemed so empty without...
Hopefully time will work its magic for him and when this is all over, he'll be on the way to healing. I haven't really got time to sit around worrying about him, even though I do. Life, as ever, goes on.
We got nothing from Dorcas' crime scene. Absolutely nothing. It's odd, there's usually tiny traces, minute and of no use, but in this instance, it's as though there was never anything there at all. The wards were in tatters, the room was trashed, but there wasn't a trace of anything. No magic. No blood that didn't belong to Dorcas, though it was clear there was quite a struggle. Curious then to find no trace. I can only speculate about why this is. Everyone's baffled. I plan to approach Albus with the matter, though usually, we'd go to the Department of Mysteries. I'm not sure whether to trust them unfortunately - especially since their internal inquiry turned out nothing but dead ends. They held out several of their employees for further investigation, but the evidence against them is a little too convenient, a little too conclusive. We're still looking into them, but personally, I think the evidence was planted. Our mole is still at large, and still as slippery as ever.
Albus,
The Bill's passed. Unforgiveables on the streets tomorrow. Warn the Order.
