It never ceases to amaze me how formulaic movies really are, and how willfully ignorant I am of said formulas until you point them out to me. hahaha

Yep. That's why when people say a film is formulaic, I just say "And?"

It is a rare film that plays against type, and even then, you can still spot the tropes and cliches if you really try.
