That is just another outstanding yet fathomable case of right-wing paranoia driven to another extent. Homosexual mafia? You could call it caricature-esque however, they're just so vehemently opposed to the idea of liberation in any form that they might damn it so publicly in order for the public to go conservative and thus, have more of a chance to get taxes lowered once again.

...is it bad that I started laughing? I mean...I know he's serious and it's sort of...well, pretty terrible, but I can't help but want to just laugh at him. Sort of the same way you might laugh at a five year old before running away at full speed because tantrums really aren't funny for very long.

It makes me laugh too. I felt the same way you did -- I shouldn't be laughing at something that is hateful and intended to generate animosity towards a certain group. That would be like laughing at the nazis or something.

But I actually think laughter is a totally appropriate response. Laughing is just our way of completely discrediting this point of view. Maybe if everyone laughed at Hitler we never would have had the holocaust. So I'm going to continue laughing.

It would be funny to me, except that I live in a place where the underlying attitude is almost like this. When it looks like the majority of people might actually believe something like this, it suddenly stops being funny, and starts being scary.
