The Killer Angels. Yah, I know. I read it when I was in 7th grade... and it made history furiously interesting for me. Considering I'm a history major still... quite.

2. one book you have read more than once? There are a lot of books in truth... almost everything on my shelf (particulalry here in Tokyo) has been ( Read more... )

I got The Man Born to be King for my birthday. It's been several years since I've read it, so I'm very excited to read it again. Hmm. I've never read The Purpose-Driven Life, but I can't say I've ever had any real desire to do so.

How's the Petherbridge reading? Perhaps I should check it out.

Well, I promised my mother that I'd read The Purpose Driven Life, so I owe her.

The problem with the Petherbridge reading is that it's an abridgement. However, they did keep some of the lovely parts which are missed out of the TV adaptation - the scene with St. George is wonderful :)

Ack! How could they bear to abridge? Every word is wonderful! It would be marvelous to hear the Gherkins stuff, though. I wasn't happy with the way they adapted it for tv.

I wasn't either - I was so very disappointed with it, considering what a nice job they did with the other took books!

I'll try to make a recording of that little section and post it for you :)

hahah, I love how you left in my bracketed comment on my version of question 10.

A Grief Observed, btw, is easily my favorite book of C.S. Lewis's. It's his most human book, the works before it feel "incomplete" in some way.

Blah, I should be good and edit that out.

I do need to read more of Lewis (dare I admit that's the only non-Narnia book that I've read?) Certainly, elwe has enough of them.

Oh, you haven't read the Space Trilogy? Perelandra may be my favorite of all his books.

Errr. That Hideous Strength along with The Screwtape Letters both fall into my 'this is interesting, but let me start something else' pile. I'm afraid I have to read almost everything at one sitting, or I get distracted.

Ah. Now ther was George Elliot book I didn't like either.. Oh, Silas Marner. It probably didn't help that I was in 7th grade when I tried it, but yuk!
