1. Any favorite holiday books or stories that you like to read and reread this time of year? And if so, why? What makes it so special to you? Favorites from your childhood? I used to have The Night Before Christmas memorized when I was little, but I don't anymore. Not the whole thing, anyway.

Also: I love Rudolph.

I tend to reread Louisa May Alcott's An Old-Fashioned Girl during some part of the year when it's really cold out. It has nothing to do with the holidays; it's just a very cozy sort of book.

I keep meaning to read more Connie Willis--I've read To Say Nothing of the Dog and a short story or two--and if Doomsday Book is worth rereading every year, I should really get on that, shouldn't I?
