The Pho and spring rolls? The other dishes are very similar to Chinese food, I think....I have acquired the taste for Vietnamese food too, the use of fish sauce. I find their fish sauce nicer than the Thai version. And I love the abundant use of Shiso leaves!

yes, the pho, "paper" spring roll esp. the ones with the prawns...used to eat at vietnamese restaurants and cafe in sydney very often, we love their broken rice with spring chicken, yes the way they cook with their fish sauce...yum!!!!! argh!!! now i am hungry just thinking of vietnamese food...been looking for one authentic one in singapore since day 1 i arrived...the "best" is the "pho" noodle place in holland village but still very very far from the real thing!!! :(

thanks for sharing! sounds like a dream holiday, just eat and shop! AND kids-free!!!

not many ppl think of HCMC as a holiday-destination, so i guess it will remain untainted til it starts getting bus-loads of tourists!

I really recommend HCMC if you are planning for a holiday. Very easy to go around and not expensive.
