Have you seen Light in the Piazza? I'm madly in love with that. It's the most gorgeous piece of musical theatre created in the past ten years.

I think it's rather unlikely that Spamalot will win it. As we've seen last year, biggest hit does not necessarily equal Best Musical. And there's quite a backlash against Spamalot right now. I think it'll probably win Best Director and possibly Best Featured for Sara Ramirez, but even that's wide open now. Road-show promoters will probably vote for DRS, since Spamalot will sell itself on the road, and DRS would need the help of a Tony. And if somehow the vote gets split between DRS and Spamalot, then Light in the Piazza has a great chance.

I'd love Mary-Louise Parker to win, but it's very unlikely.

Spelling Bee is not likely to win Best Musical or Best Score. It might win Best Book, or acting awards for Dan Folger or Celia Keenan-Bolger. I really like Bill Finn too, but this just isn't going to be his year, with the score race really between DRS and Light in the Piazza.

yeah i cant believe i forgot to talk about light in the piazza because i completely agree that it is phenominal. and I totally agree with spamalot. Its good yes, funny of course, but its not the best. I loooove celia keenan-bolger and want her to win, but am a little apprehensive just cause there is so much competition. eh, whattya gonna do.

I think I'll be happy with any of the best musical wins cause i really do love all the shows. Doubt for sure has got best play. Revival of a play is going to cause some drama too. ahhh! craziness im soo excited. hahaha we are soo cool mark! lol.

There was an article in the free press this morning. 7 tony nominations for michigan natives. Two for jerry mitchell, so really only 6 people. but thats quite a large sum. Lets here it for some hope!! woop.

Sorry, my comment isn't about the tony's and whatnot, but it's ok, I'm black (random, I know). Anyways, just wondering if you would be up for the usual state board reunion that the girls & I usually do. Oh, and I love your "bang in my white t" insert from your last post! That was the LJ moment of the week.
