And I entirely agree with you about the nasty swipe at the fandom. Did SM and MG want to piss everyone off or were they convinced they were just that clever?
would the people who build them actually have left the site unwatched for the length of time that it would take to excavate a hole in the stack of flammables, shove a limp body inside, and then replace everything exactly as it was before? Help me out, actual British persons!

I thought it was a great and charming touch, and it's a sure way to ensure that Sherlock looks like his parents. Of course, later on, it will really bring home the fact that Mark Gatiss looks nothing like any of them. Maybe Mycroft is one of those kids who looks like some obscure great-aunt or something.

Regardless of what they say, I have to believe that they've been at the fanfiction, and they've certainly had to deal with the crowds of rubberneckers that they attract when doing location shoots. Still grinning a bit at the parents, though.
As for The Imitation Game I liked the acting and the cinematography a lot, but the scriptwriting had me saying "No... No... No..." My mum liked it though - said that anything that brought those days back into the present day had to be good.
I would certainly read your review if you were to write it. No pressure though, obv!
