thats actually my favorite joanna newsom song, I used to loathe her voice but it grows on you.

i like both versions equally. i actually don't mind her voice (well, in small doses), i like the whimsical quality of it. but i find her image contrived in a lot of ways, and the voice is definitely part of that. same thing with devendra banhart. that's sort of unrelated to why i used that heading but it pretty much sums up my sentiments on the topic.
