i love how "hoppy" is an intelligent creature smarter than a science teacher AND CAN SPEAK ENGLISH and yet he didn't have a name until joey gave him one.

"Arabella" the bedazzled snake? "come on kids! join the dark side, we have cookies shiny sparkly things!"

"libertine?" that's the stupidest name for a book character!

wikipedia defines "libertine" as:

A libertine is one devoid of most moral restraints, which are seen as unnecessary or undesirable, especially one who ignores or even spurns accepted morals and forms of behavior sanctioned by the larger society. The philosophy gained new-found adherents in the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries, particularly in France and Britain. Notable among these were John Wilmot, 2nd Earl of Rochester, and the Marquis de Sade.

she should have just named the bird "dirty slut"

Hey, the libertine statement is mine! xD
There's also a movie called The Libertine with Johnny Depp ;)

Sometimes I get the feeling Gtesch doesn't know English very well... but that's just me.

The snake sounds more like it's stuttering than hissing, the way Tesch wrote it. Most of the time when people want to have a talking snake, they write stuff like "hisssss", not "his-s-s-s-s-s". At least, in my experience.

OH MY GOSH GLITTER NETS. This 'book' (see? I can do fake quotes too!) has gotten ten times more hilarious just by introducing those.

I just chuckle every time I hear that phrase. Too, too funny.

I never read any Maradonia sporks; I wanted to keep totally blind for when I did mine.
