SI = Self Injury. Some people who have trouble dealing with things like stress sometimes SI as a method of coping.
I was not a cutter, [the most common type of SI] I pounded my fists on my legs and banged my head on things. I stopped using SI as a coping method on June 26, 2007 and I am not ashamed.
SIA = Self Injury Angel (or Advocate )
A support person for people who SI.
