Hephaestion's pictures

Here's all Hephaestion images I could find...I'm in the mood for research, today :)

- The only Hephaestion's true portrait we have: it's from a pair of heads (the other head is Alexander). It could be a little idealistic, but it's the only contemporary portrait of him, after the marriage in Susa.

- Hephaestion's golden head, after his death: maybe a gift for Alexander.

- Hephaestion on a horseback from Alexander's sarcophagus in Istanbul.

- A woman's dedication to the Hero Hephaestion, from Tessalonike, end of IV century b.C.

- Statue of Hephaestion from a pair of statues of Alexander and Hephaestion, beginning of III century.

- Alexander (left) and Hephaestion on a roman dedication, I century b.C.

- Le Brun (XVII century): Alexander enters in Babylon. Hephaestion is the rider we see before Alexander, with a red cloak.

- Le Brun: Alexander and Hephaestion (who follows him).

- Le Brun: Alexander, Hephaestion and Sisygambis.

- G. Bazzi (end of XVI century): Roxane and Alexander. Hephaestion is the man on the right, near the naked boy (a god).

Finally, there's the picture of Paolo Veronese, "The family of Darius before Alexander", I have already posted it to the previous page of my LJ...:)

That's all...I hope you will enjoy it :D
