Now that there's a mass panic, I return to the LJ I let go of a while ago. Is anyone using xjournal to archive entries? Is it working for you?

It's Windows-only, but LJ Archive is pretty good:

I was away for most of your iTunes agony -- is that all resolved now?

thanks - I'm on a mac though.

Sadly, no. I had to get a new hard drive and reimport things. I would have an entire cd with only track 7 missing. I'm going through iTunes and looking at each album with the track number column enabled. it's taking forever, and there's no way for me to replace things that I don't have the albums for. For example, I have no idea where I got Willie Nelson's "Waltz Across Texas" so have no idea how to reimport it. I can buy it on iTunes (I hope) but there's no way for me to figure out how many things like that I lost.

Also, this new hard drive won't work until I order a special cord from Western Digital. I love 2009, but it certainly has been fraught with technical difficulties thus far!
