31 Days of January: 02. Dim - Kihyun/Wonho

When Kihyun gets home, the first thing he notices is how dark it is in the flat. He knew Hoseok was supposed to be home, but it's too quiet for his boyfriend to be there. Except when he looks down, Hoseok's shoes are there, his coat hanging up on the hook. Kihyun toes out of his shoes, hanging his own coat up before leaning his backpack against the opposite wall. He steps into the hall, quiet for some reason.
The kitchen is empty, the dishes from breakfast are cleaned and put away. The kettle is sitting on a burner, but doesn't look like it's been used recently. Kihyun glances into the living room, but it's empty, too. He sees one of their cats, curled up on the rug in front of the TV. Usually Hoseok is on the couch, but he's not. Kihyun turns, down the hall toward the bathroom.
The lights are off in there, too. It's quiet, eerily quite. He doesn't panic, doesn't worry, not yet. Not until he reaches their bedroom. The door is open and he pauses, just outside the room. After a moment he steps into the room. There is Hoseok, he's sprawled out on the bed, still wearing the closes Kihyun saw him in this morning when he was leaving for work.
Kihyun crosses the room and sits on the edge of the bed. He feels all the tension slip out of his shoulders when Hoseok stirs. He turns, looking at Kihyun in the darkness.
"You're home." Hoseok's voice is laced with sleep.
Kihyun nods and leans over, kissing Hoseok. "It's awfully dark in here." He says softly.
Hoseok nods. "Long day."
Kihyun nods and crawls onto the bed, pulling his boyfriend into his arms. Now that they're together, he feels the exhaustion of work pull at him and he decides that Hoseok has the right idea. Dinner can wait until later. The darkness in their flat is enough as long as they are curled up in this bed together. Hoseok settles close, draping himself over Kihyun and it's enough to let Kihyun relax.
