That's so romantic. It had a really frenetic energy to it, maybe because of the shortness of the scenes that had so much emotion packed into them, and the switch between POV. I really felt Sylvain's anguish at his loss and how that becomes numbness and passivity. Nick is a total hero, and I actually flinched when Sylvain told Nick he never wanted to see him again. I could understand why, but wow, painful! I'm glad neither of them gave up - Sylvain was very lucky in having that second chance. You only miss something when it's gone, and he was so close to losing it all over again with Nick. Very relieved that they got a happy ending!

Aw, thank you! I wasn't sure how I wanted to work the wife and children in (sometimes I ignore they exist, especially when I don't know they exist until after the fic's been written and sometimes I include them), but I'm glad it worked. This one was somewhat hard to write, as in the wow this is awfully sad, kind of way. But I also always knew I was going to fix them in the end, so.

Good lord, but this made me teary-eyed! Oh, Sylvain, you poor, poor man. *hugs AU!version forever* His survival by a thread, what happened to his family, the image of waking up restrained (brrrr!), and his telling Nick he never wanted to see him again... good lord. At least the last wasn't his permanent view of things, and two of the other three horrible situations didn't last, but... oh gosh, this got to me. Excellent and heartbreaking. *hugs AU!Sylvain forever, though I said that already*

SORRY! I always forgot how sad I made this one in order to get to the ending. I'm so glad you liked it :D :D I'm constantly fascinated with this end of the world/zombie/post-apocalyptic world stuff. So, yay. I'm so :D that you read it and liked it. Even if it was said. And yeah, all the hugs in the world belong to AU!Sylvain.
