My own thoughts... taufactor December 9 2007, 09:18:58 UTC
If it's pro-atheist, so what?

A good parent can raise their children on what is right and wrong, and respond to their questions in a loving and fulfilling way.

For those uber-religious brainwashers, instilling a fear of the "devil", I call out their parenting, I object directly to them!

To force religious doctrine down a small child's throat is abusive, and I do agree with your conclusion to the article.

A good parent will be their own child's guidance. The kids are going to eventually grow up and responsibly make up their own minds, or become someone's tool.

“I loathe the ‘Narnia’ books; I hate them with a deep and bitter passion...”

I took my kids to see that this weekend. We loved it.

Oh, and the evil organization in the book series is not "the church" (as if there were only one), it is indeed the Magisterium. No actual religion is ever mentioned in the entire series. Of course, it's not too hard to see that the Magisterium is a thinly-disguised allegory for the Catholic church. They're only offended because the cruel and sinister actions of the Magisterium are a little too historically familiar for comfort. We wouldn't want the public to be reminded of a little old insignificant thing like the Inquisition, now would we?

If someone is gullible enough to have their faith challenged by a movie, then they're too dumb to be allowed outside of the house without a helmet. (And besides, the Mormons are really ones to point fingers about propaganda. *cough*God's Army I & II/Singles Ward/Return With Honor/Passage to Zarahemla/The Work & The Glory I, II, & III/The RM/Suits on the Loose/Mobsters & Mormons*cough ( ... )
