Real life things -

1 - I just made my own bread for the first time. I may have mentioned that my dirty hippie has manifested itself by being really concerned with what I eat, but I've never attempted bread because, honestly, I don't eat much of it. But I figured I needed to learn and, oh yeah, success. I used Laura Calder's Miracle Boule. Not ( Read more... )

People cooking more of their own food seems to be a thing now - I hope it's a trend that continues and not a passing fad. Have you read any of Michael Pollan's books? Really, really interesting.

Felt up and punched at a concert? Isn't it fun when life imitates a YA novel.

You won't be by a long shot. I have a theory about harmonians that there are an awful lot of us around but we just don't talk to each other, so each of us us rolling along thinking that we're the only one (possible metaphor for Hary and Hermione's relationship?)

Oh, yeah - I read Omnivore's Dilemma when it first came out and that sort-of began my craziness, lo these many years ago. (Also, having no money when I lived in DC made me very conscious of being able to stretch food.) He's actually got another one coming out in a bit. I'm trying to get a copy here shortly.

And I'll be all about the pumpkins until the end. OTP, baby.

I've been working on this stupid thing for...a year and a half now. But I think I can see the end. It's like a miracle.

Oh you know you'd never be the only one at the ceremony, cheering on H/Hr. ;)

Miss you too, always good to see you post now and then again for a brief catch up. :D

I miss lj, man.

Fandom has migrated to tumblr and while I know that's the way things go and I don't want to be that old, crotchety 'you kids get off my lawn!' lady - it's just not the same! It's fine for squee, but there's no sense of community or discussion.

Sigh.

I have resisted the migration and only go to Tumblr if linked directly there from LJ or maybe even Twitter. I just don't have the patience or time to keep up with Tumblr and just haven't bothered.

I remember one time I tried, I was just thrown off by the dashboard (didn't like it) and just didn't go back, really, though I'm sure it's improved since I first used it back in the day.

So I say, let me be old because it's definitely not the same.
