Well today is lucia, well actually only for about 20 more minutes. Lucia is a holiday here in sweden. I stole the description of Luciadagen(the lucia day) from a fellow exchange student grace. I didnt know how to explain lucia, but her livejournal had the following and made it much more helpful...

how beautiful! that is soooo amazing--how long to the students prepare for the concert?? it seems like a BIG deal!

hello, ya it was really nice!! they actually start preparing for next years concert in january!! it takes a lot of work and preparation for them. They change it every year, so thats a lot of work. How is everything going with you??

Haha...k I am going to post my pictures now...it is like we went to different concerts or something! We were sitting 4 or 5 rows up from the floor...so my pics look nothing like yours (I might have to steal some :) ) but you should be able to tell where I was sitting from how all the people are standing in them. I like your take on the 'christmas tree contraption' quite funny. I agree my school's Lucia wasn't really great either but after going to the Globen our standards were set fairly high.

Wow, your photos are cool. Hard to believe the tradition has been going on for hundreds of years. I like the shortbread-like tradition. Blowing the glass looks like fun. With all my hot air I would be a master. Maybe I missed my calling but it looks like my son has all the same talents! Keep having fun! Your Dad.
