Hangeng walked down the streets of Seoul with a hood over his head, lost in thought.
Maybe they wanted me to leave too. Maybe they didn't really care for me after all.
He looked up at the sky. It's going to rain soon.
He walked in the direction of the Super Junior dorm. When he got there, he peered over the gate. He saw Leeteuk and Kangin sitting on the lawn. How typical of them, he thought.
A voice interrupted his thoughts. "Hankyung!" It was Leeteuk. His heart beat so fast; he thought his hyung saw him.
Just then, a big white dog bounded into the spot where the two members were sitting. Hangeng watched the threesome closely.
"Good boy, Hankyung. Always obeying your Teukie-hyung," Leeteuk cooed. Kangin smiled and ruffled the dog's fur.
"Hannie, don't ever go, okay? Don't go away." A tear fell on Leeteuk's cheek and he brushed it away with one hand. "Hyung will really miss you if you go."
They named the dog after me, Hangeng thought.
As he watched them, a sob burst out of Leeteuk's lips. Kangin tucked the older male's head under his chin and murmured soothing words into his ear. The dog, sensing his master's sadness, curled up against Leeteuk's thigh. The older man smiled sadly and ran his hands through the dog's fur.
Hangeng felt something wet on his cheek. He touched it and saw that he was crying.
They miss me.. I wonder if the other members do too..
He climbed on a tree outside the dorm. To his right, he could see the room of Eunhyuk and Donghae.
"I'm hungry," he heard Eunhyuk say.
"So am I. But we don't have any food. Neither of us knows how to cook," Donghae replied.
"What are we gonna do now, Hae?"
Donghae laid down on the bed. "Ahh, I don't know. I wish Hankyung hyung was here to cook us some Beijing Fried Rice."
Eunhyuk sighed sadly. "Yeah.. I miss him and his cooking."
Hangeng smiled sadly. Those boys do nothing but eat all day when we don't have schedules..
To his right was Ryeowook and Yesung's room. He saw Yesung practicing the moves to Sorry Sorry, and Ryeowook was sitting on the bed, writing a Chinese song and singing softly.
Yesung groaned. "Why can't I do this part right?" He tried doing it again, but he still wasn't satisfied.
Ryeowook looked at him with a deadly stare in his eyes. "Yah, you've been at it for almost an hour. I've been putting up with your groans and rants for the past hour too. Can't you see I'm writing a song here?"
The older male sighed. "I'm sorry Wookie, I'm just trying to polish the moves. I'll go practice outside if I bother you that much." Yesung opened the door and went out. "Where's Hankyung hyung where you need him? God, I miss his company so much."
Hangeng snorted. Yesung's always asking me to teach him the moves to a certain songs, when he knows that his moves are flawless. I didn't know he liked my company that much. Ryeowook.. that guy's voice is so soothing, even more so when he sings in Chinese.
Hangeng climbed higher and saw that Kibum and Siwon's room was empty. Must be out shooting a drama, he thought. I used to cook for them whenever they leave for a shooting.
In the other room, Hangeng saw Kyuhyun playing Starcraft, and Sungmin trying to make him turn off the computer.
"Kyu, get off the computer. I have to print out our schedules for tomorrow."
"Do it later."
"I can't do it later, I have to go buy food and cook our dinner."
"Then tell Leeteuk to do it for you."
Sungmin groaned. "You're impossible, Kyuhyun!"
Hangeng shook his head. I see Kyuhyun's already got his laptop from my room.
The room on the topmost floor was his and Heechul's. He noticed that the light was turned on. He climbed up and was shocked at what he saw.
The room was a mess. Soju bottles and broken pieces of furniture were on the floor. Heechul was huddled in a corner, weeping. Hangeng's heart broke at the sight.
"Hangeng.. Hankyung.." A new wave of tears broke off Heechul's words.
Hangeng wanted to open the window, run to Heechul, hug him and never let go. Tears cascaded on his cheeks. He hated seeing his favorite hyung cry.
He choked back a sob, and by some bizarre miracle, Heechul heard him. The older man stood up, wiped his tears and walked towards the window. "Hannie? Is that you?"
No! You can't let him know you're here! Hangeng's conscience screamed.
Heechul peered out the window and saw Hangeng, a few feet separating them. "Geng?" To the man's surprise, Hangeng started to go down the tree. "Hangeng! Wait for me!" he screamed.
Heechul ran down the hallway, down the stairs, and out the gate. He was drunk, his hair was disheveled, and he hadn't changed his clothes in days. But he didn't care. Not now. "Hangeng!"
Hangeng jumped off a branch and ran.
Heechul ran after him and eventually caught up with him. He pulled Hangeng's collar and twisted it to make the younger man face him.
"Were you planning on just leaving me there?" Heechul asked bitterly.
Hangeng didn't answer. By this time, the Super Junior members were already outside, watching the scene unfold.
"Hannie, why didn't you tell me you were leaving?"
The Chinese man held back his tears and kept his eyes away from Heechul's sharp gaze.
Heechul gripped Hangeng's arm tightly and with his other hand, forced Hangeng to look at him in the eye.
"I'm sorry," Hangeng choked out, wrenched himself out of Heechul's steel grip and ran.
Heechul collapsed on the pavement and began to sob. "Hangeng! Come back!" he screamed.
Hangeng's tears fell on his cheeks and on his shirt. As he ran, there was only one thing that was on his mind:
There is a difference. A big one. And it's breaking my heart.
