My Sirius, let me show you him. (Now with added Draco)

.
So this is an entirely 'By Parlophone, Aged Twelve' type of post, but from the instant I read Prisoner of Azkaban, I had a mental image of Sirius in my head.

And he looked like this:

Oh, I haven't heard of him in a while. I was surprised to see Dinara in one of the final stages of some championship, and I'm glad he's playing properly again ^_^
Cheering for him was a bit of a rollercoaster. The images are brilliant. And make me wonder what happened to my collection.

Ooh, do you watch tennis? I'd dearly love to have more tennis friends on LJ.
And I'd love to see your favourite Marat pics.

Dinara was in the Roland Garros final just recently, and although I make fun of her, I'm actually terribly fond of both siblings.

Yes, one totally needs to be a masochist to keep on supporting Marat, year after year, one lost opportunity after another. But I love him. And I love the way he exudes an aura amongst all the men on the tour too. He's also the only male player that reduces my male, tennis-playing friends to being fangirls. (They admire Federer for his skills, and Nadal for his grit, but Marat seems to have everything boys/men want. Charisma, talent, sex-appeal, and a certain dissoluteness that oozes cool, lol.)

I used to watch all sorts of sport, and I had this thing - whoever I liked, was like him. there was Bode Miller in skiing, Rossi in motorcycling, Raikkonen during those years when his engine fluked every second race, it was like my favourites were cursed.
I stopped really watching tennis right after Nadal's first Grand Slam victory.
thnking about it, i realized that anyone else doing what Marat was doing would have looked odd or embarassing, but he did it cool-y. And his poor raquets... I get all sentimental thinking about those things. Oh, and how I used to worry when he had cramps or muscle problems... I remeber that horrendously long match, 5 hours or so, and I was dying in front of the TV, my mother didn't even dare suggest we change to the news ^_^

I haven't watched in a while, because I am in an tv-avoiding phase, but I'd go back for tennis ^_^

Does that mean you missed Marat vs Roger, @Aussie Open semis 2005?
One of my favourite matches ever. (My abosolute favourite still has to be Goran Ivanisevic vs Patrick Rafter, Wimbledon final 2001.)

I'm not really a sports fan per se. Just tennis and cycling (but just the Tour de France.) I got into tennis bc I play myself, and became a huge Tour de France fan bc of Lance Armstrong. But there've been so many shocking scandals in road cycling in recent years, so...

I hope you might be tempted to watch a bit of Wimbledon this year :)

I can't tell you how much I panted in anticipation, when you first posted your ATBT cover.

I was thrilled for Safin! He played such a great game. :)

[I have no tennis icon, so you'll have to have Eric Kostin - skateboarding superstar!]

We both know he's also completely capable of crashing out today against the completely non-inspiring Seppi :( I've learnt to live with Marat dashing my hopes. (Up next on Court 1, after Ivanovic/Zheng.)

Here's my Gorgeous George icon, but I've vowed not to follow TdF this year.
Well, not slavishly, anyway.

I am fully intending to follow the tour! I know it's reckless, I know it will all go horribly wrong, I know I am destined for heartache...

Hee!

Please note that my Snape wears a ponytail!

And who is your Draco?

Remedied!

Ohh, I didn't think he needed explanation. He's Tadzio in Visconti's adaptation of 'Death in Venice'. Still has tons of adoring fans in Japan.

Aha. I thought I knew his face but couldn't for the life of me remember where. I decided that it was something like Star Wars 1 or something. I need sleep :)

Star Wars. Star Wars.

Bwahahahaha, this is why I love you, hon.

Marat = hottest person in tennis, and possibly in life. I have seen the light! and it has a sexy goatee

Oldman is not my Sirius either. He's not as cute as Marat, granted, but I always have a vague picture of Paul McGann in my head when I think of Sirius. (Although it's entirely possible that his position may now have been usurped!). (Here, for example, an older Sirius who's been in Azkaban for a bit, yes? http://farm1.static.flickr.com/199/528465062_eceab7ee5c_o.jpg)

*friends you because you are obviously made of win*

That's a lovely pic of Paul McGann. And yes, I can definitely see a slightly broken, older Sirius here. Painless_J coerced me into watching Hornblower recently, and he cut a lovely dash in his Lieutenant's uniform.

As for Sirius Marat Sirius Marat, I give him approx 0.3% chance of beating Federer tomorrow (bc there's a reason why one is No1 in the world and has 5 Wimby titles to his name, and the other... is ranked in the lowly seventies.) But I look forward to the match all the same. (Btw, I really enjoy the commentary during his matches -- Marat really brings out the fanboy in men, even in the veteran tennis pundits.)

Why do I know your name? Ahh. From that wonderful Beltane fest story set in Kyoto!

Thanks, and of course I'm friending you back.

McGann is rather lovely. He's regularly my weekend treat :D (Er, it's not as good as it sounds! I'm working my way through the Doctor Who audio plays and only have a chance to listen to them at the weekends!)

Oh, I am sad that Marat is playing tomorrow and not Saturday. *pouts* I have to work, and then I have my work leaving do so I can't even dash home. He'd better win! (It's so unlikely. No-one can beat Federer at the moment! It's like Pete Sampras all over again).

And thank you! :)
