Fencing....

I mean the type one installs in the yard...does anyone here have any experience with hiring someone to install a fence? And can you recommend someone in the north Puget Sound region? We want a 7' wooden privacy fence, nothing fancy, two lengths of about 15' each with a gate in each section. And we don't want to be cheated. Sigh....

Kjartan may be a good beginning point. He'd at least be able to give you a rough estimate and tips on selecting contractors.

I've built more fences/decks than I can count - and it's not that hard to do. You can even buy the sections pre-made, you just have to get them delivered and do maybe half an afternoon's work. But, barring the do-it-yourself route...

Have you tried calling the local Home Depot? They usually have a list of contractors handy, and if you get an intelligent enough sales clerk they will give you a recommendation (although they aren't supposed to.) I'm not sure about lumber prices anymore as I haven't been in that business for about 15 years. But I can easily give you sa list of materials for 30' of 8' privacy with a gate in the middle of each section.

Note: I build sturdy stuff, so some contractors think my materiuals are a bit on the hefty side. But when push comes to shove, my fences and decks last FOREVER.

A big fence?

Are you summoning the spirit of the new moon again?
(From which you derive your magic powers)

I'm told it works better if you press your bare flesh against the dew just before sunrise....

I sincerely hope nothing/no one got into your yard. Is everything ok?
