i just spent the past three hours answering essay questions about ethics. which actually isn't too bad, considering the fact that the rest of the class had the coursepack (out of which the questions were taken) about a month ago, and have been working on it over the past few weeks ( Read more... )

i don't know how much you wanted to spend but epiphone is sweet.

check this one out

this one's a little more but looks cooler

or some even less expensive options:

like this one
or this one

or if you wanted to make me really mad you could buy the guitar i'm currently in love with.

wow, thanks a lot. i hadn't seen any of these guitars before. that last one is pretty awesome.

twin town had some burns london guitars that were pretty cool, and apparently they aren't distributed in the US anymore. i liked the way the dipinto sounded though.

i think you've made me realize i should look around a bit more. thanks again.

beware of the last two epiphones. these are heavily mass produced, and so you really need to play several before you settle on one. don't get me wrong; there a few really good ones for the money. adam w. bought one of 'em and i love it. they really don't skimp on the electronics(sounds great), but the necks and bodies can be a bit sketchy.

the SG i'd suggest would be more like the E-300 or the Vintage G-400. they're a bit more than the Epiphone Specials, but you get a better quality instrument at around the same price you'd pay for the DiPinto.

although, if the DiPinto plays as well as these other SG's, i'd go that route. that thing is pretty sexy. you'll end up having to tape the pickup selecter switch down if you play aggressively at all, but that makes it even hotter. ha
