Vat meat is happy meat!

Is Morningstar a widespread brand where you are, or is it a specialty item? What do they say their meat is made out of?

WSPA is doing a survey of US grocery stores for humane animal products, and they could use some volunteers. I could give you the link if you're interested?

I'd say Morningstar is pretty wide-spread; I've seen their products for years at the upscale supermarkets (Whole Foods, Wild Oats), and in the last year or two at least in the local high-normal supermarket (Publix) which usually sticks them near the organic or produce sections (they haven't yet developed a full-fledged named meatless section).

The super-tasty corn dogs are listed here; it's kind of hard to tell what's breading and what's 'hotdog', but it appears to be mostly corn and wheat and sugar. The plain hotdogs, which I haven't been able to find yet, are primarily "WATER, WHEAT GLUTEN, CORN SYRUP SOLIDS, GUM BLEND (METHYLCELLULOSE, CARRAGEENAN, XANTHAN GUM, POTASSIUM CHLORIDE)".

And yes, I'll take the link, I'm not sure if I can do it but I'd like to take a look and see :) Thanks Spooooke!

This is why shooting your own food owns.

Misty and I have just now been at the economic level where we can buy free range, hormone/antibiotic free and other types of meat. It tastes better.

I really wish I had enough land to raise a few animals for food. I'd know exactly what I was getting, then.

Man, I love Morningstar fake meat food products. Lucifer must be involved somehow.

I like MorningStar, Boca and Gardenburger products. I like Morningstar's fake chicken and hotdogs. Boca has a good "flamegrilled" burger. Gardenburger is nice because it doesn't have soy - some folks are allergic. Tofurkey and Quorn also have an interesting selection.

Oh yeah, Quorn! I liked their lasagna thing, even though it seemed wildly expensive.
