I'm thinking it could be something as simple as a skin reaction to the medication used to treat the mites. Probably irritated the delicate skin. I bet it will be better just by rubbing in the neosporin.
I don't think it's that but who knows? Louisiana and humidity goes hand and hand. I think it's possibly the worst state for it. Even when I lived in Florida it wasn't as bad as this, though I did live on the coast...maybe that had something to do with it being not as bad there. My house stays 40-55% humid all the time usually around 50. And when I leave I turn the air up a bit so it makes it even more humid. Makes keeping reptiles really easy. I don't have to mist their cages very often. I hope it's not that. I hope it's something medicine can just fix right up....because I hate to get a humidifier because mold grows so easily here. UGH.
