This is primarily for iconmakers who use PNGs.

Photoshop is bad at optimizing PNGs. Trust me when I say this.

OptiPNG - it's a free optimization tool that losslessly compresses the size of PNG files. It's main downfall is that it's techy (command line based and on Macs, you have to compile the source code yourself). Otherwise, it can take up to ( Read more... )

Someone suggested FuturePaint for reducing pic sizes. Someone also suggested Fire...something from Macromedia. And then there's AdobePhotoshop, which I heard is more difficult to use than the Firewhatever software but it can do animated stuff. Basically, I want to take a few pics of Paul and compile them into one icon of Beatle Paul hottness.

So which would you recommend? Apologies for the comment spam. Like the Pixies said, "Where is my mind?"

You just want to make an animated gif?

Best graphics software: Photoshop. I know it too, which is always a plus. ;) It's only for those really serious about design though, so keep that in mind.

If you have all the photos resized in GIF format, there's unFreez for animating them.

Hi, this is really really random, but I was wondering if you could make me an icon. Any picture of like...a cloudy or gray landscape or even just of Dave Matthews would be nice with these words:

"And though it’s red blood bleeding from her now
It feels like cold blue ice in her heart"

If you could help me with that it'd be much appreciated...thanks!
