Random ficlet

Decided to actually write something for 15minuteficlets. So, I wrote this rather random, Full Metal Panic Gen!fic with almost no bearing on the show besides characters ^_^ Gotta love randomness, not to mention first time ficing.

That was actually quite cute, and very well-written. There were a few grammatical errors, but only someone as anal as I am would notice them. ^^;

I love fics that deal with the idea of Sousuke and Kaname eventually going off to college and the dilemma it might present, and I must say, this is one of the best interpretations I've ever seen. You absolutely nailed Kaname's character, and let me tell you, I can all but count the authors who do that on one hand. Major, major props in that area. The ending was also very sweet, and I could definitely see it happening in the canon.

This is really a great first effort, especially for such a difficult fandom. Here's hoping we'll see more from you in the near future! ^_^

Heh, that's what I get for writing/posting this at midnight. I'll take another look at it and hopefully clear out some of those errors.

Thanks to for the compliments on Kaname's characterization! Is it really that hard to write her? I mean, her character traits are fairly obvious: independent, stubborn, opinionated, self-sacrificing (just think Sousuke comforting Tessa at the end of 1st season), compassionate (tutoring), and intelligent.

I suppose getting a balance of those traits might be difficult, but surely not that difficult!

Well, personally, I don't have any trouble writing her, but considering that the overwhelming number of authors write her as a) overly-violent to the point of being abusive for no apparent reason and/or b) a squeeing, giggly schoolgirl who clings to Sousuke and showers him with kisses, a lot of people must find her character extremely difficult to write for, or they just don't put any work into characterization. Either way, it's incredibly annoying and frustrating to read twenty fics and have none of them accurately characterize the lead female.
