This past winter flew by for me. Normally I dread the winters here... bitter cold, bitter cold winds that make the bitter cold that much more unbearable, major ice, major snow, major slush... basically a major inconvenience when you need to get around. I took a field trip over to the new offices yesterday to check out the whole situation. Wow. The construction crew really did a fantastic job on that place. My department will be bigger so that rocks, but what bites is that the door will be to my back. What a nice day in Chicago. There's a very fine mist in the air. It's not just falling down from the sky either; it's getting blown around from the cars driving past and the wind so an umbrella really didn't help much. Christmas was really quite nice this year. My family stopped exchanging gifts about 10 years ago, so it's more of a get together & hang out & enjoy each others company rather than a spend a million dollars on gifts for everyone kind of event and that suits me just fine. Holy cow. I thought yesterday was bad.... today is clearly worse than yesterday. Single digits this morning with wind chills which i'm quite sure were below that zero mark.
