I've heard of conservatives stating they love Colbert's show so much more than the Daily Show because it's conservative/fair and balanced. Conservatives seem to not have gotten the memo on satire.

Media types or people you know? Either way...

That's really funny. I really would love to find out that the person who invited him actually thought he was a conservative. Hehe.

I think I heard someone online say that once.

The conservatives are so unused to criticism that their minds can't process satire. Their rhetoric is so absurd by itself that it essentially renders satire obsolete anyway since it's pretty much impossible for a comedian to produce a joke that's so far from what's actually happening that it can be considered satire.

I don't know too many conservatives personally who I'd feel comfortable talking politics with. Every time I've attempted to discuss politics with a conservative they always get defensive and ultimately it degenerates into them screaming.

After watching him roast the President like that I'm just stunned. I admire him all the more for saying it all directly to his face. I have rarely watched something and been extatic and nervous for the person at the same time as when I watched that.

Kudos to Colbert.
