Grad school (and other) ruminations

I keep pondering myself into tighter and tighter circles, in regards to my graduate school aspirations. I do not, as yet, know what I wish to pursue. The simple solution to that would be to pursue that which I am interested. Fair enough. i so know how you feel... i'm basically taking a year off to decide what program i want to apply for... i've managed to narrow it down to music history, musicology, ethnomusicology, or music therapy... and then there's the pratical part of me that's like i should get my bma or something... just thought you'd like to know you're not alone here, and good luck with deciding ;)~

Hmmm ... evolutionary engineering? If there were such a thing, that would be so cool - very interesting I bet!

Indeed it would be! Where I work I get to apply biological metaphors to engineering problems, which is tremendously interesting and exciting. Evolution offers an interesting discovery mechanism and design methodology for complex systems, but as yet it remains largely untapped in the artificial sense - directed evolution (in drug design for example).
