My degree has cost me $12,590 in loans and I'm going on for an MA in the fall, so that amount will most likely go up.
Good luck on the new job. Hope all goes well for you :)

Your feelings on money and making it on your own are very noble.

So, I haven't been keeping up enough with your journal (I added you recently, right after those adorable sponge bob underwear pics...) I thought that you were thinking of moving to NYC? When did you decide on LA?

I think it is very noble of you to be so independant. You should feel no humility but rather you should feel your greatness. We all must follow our course whever it may lead.
I wish I had your drive, determination and ambition.

But then I have my own gifts.

rent in KY is nothing like LA...but that's a given. I've lived in KY twice and I'm not kidding when I say this but my rent the first time was only 180 a month with 2 roommates and we lived in a very nice historic house. now I have one roommie and live downtown..my rent is only 235 a month. But money doesn't mean anything to me so although rent in LA will be something like 700-900 at the least...doesn't bother me.

Right on hun, I am the same way, very independent. I don't even like asking my parents for money anymore, I stopped that when I turned 16 and got my first job. Well good luck with the new job, HAVE FUN with it!
