I am so sorry about the changes in your family, Arty.
I hope you are ok with all of this. I know that it is a lot to handle and especially so soon after you moved.

In Nov, 1998, I moved to Cleveland.
In Dec. 1998, my father had a major stroke.
A few weeks later, my grandmother had a minor heart attack
In Jan. 1999, my grandmother died of sepsis.

I tell you this so that you know how mush I can understand how difficult it is to be so far from home when these huge things happen.

I hope that your father will come back from Iraq unscathed.
I hope that Eric makes your mother happy.
I think it is awesome of your dad to push yuor mother into a direction that could bring her happiness.

Most of all, I hope that you are ok with all of this. It is hard.

*Huge HUG*

First of all, glad you arrived safely in California! You'll have to keep us posted about life on the other coast and how you are settling in. On life's changes - I do wish your parents the best even though they are going their separate ways. I know your Dad will be okay too heading back to Iraq; I'm praying for his safe return.
