Never happened in the Dark Future Timeline. Erdbeben ended up being duped and helping Panzer bring about the dark future and then sometime shortly there after, Panzer stabbed him in the back because Erdbeben was not a mutant.

Erdbeben in the original (now altered timeline) worked with Panzer back during the war, both on the German side. Panzer was actually attempting to get Erdbeben out of Germany before the Americans grabbed him. So initially it made sense in the dark timeline that Erdbeben ended up "assisting" Panzer initially in order to promote his beloved Germany. Eventually he probably found out what was really going on, at which time it was too late, mutants had taken over too much.

So I guess now I just need to pack my luchador mask for DDC.

Well DDC is Mutant Saga: Volume III, taking place in the 1990s . . . no clue yet on which, if any, Team Volare members will be making an appearance. I certainly expect Grim and El Camino in Volume IV though.

In case you haven't realized, the mutant saga's world is dark . . . I'm sorta using the Team Volare references and appearances to counter balance the darkness a bit :)

Well. I knew it was dark. And these happen at cons so we shouldn't get too attached. But. Damn. I don't know if I want to play in the DDC game knowing this, because, well, I do get attached.

Hmmm.

This is in the dark future . . . that timeline was changed back in Volume I, so the DDC games are on a different timeline and not set in stone . . . if Panzer had originally gone forward with his plan back in 1954 to have mutants war against the non mutants, the above is how it would have turned out in 2011 . . . the Panzer Rob is playing is very different then the Panzer above . . . in fact in the above timeline, Tick's a good guy!

Okay...I guess I didn't pick up on that at first: so if I'm hearing you correctly the DDC game won't have these events in the storyline?

that's completely correct. The DDC games (Vol I through V) are now on a separate timeline. This game at Kublacon will be taking place in the dark future timeline. Think like DC comics and Marvel comics alternate worlds :)

I am SO there.
Saturday, not so much. But Sunday, when everyone's already tired, I'm going to be snorting nescafe crystals.

Interestingly, I first misread that as "the ecstatic order of Team Volare". Which, while disturbing, is still basically true.
