Yes! But it's not the tongue-in-cheek approach Shakespeare's "My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun" either...

It's more of a mantra, the determined chant of someone who will *not* be destroyed by this beauty like everyone else has before! Yes, you're lovely, but so is honeysuckle and moonlight, this is nothing out of the ordinary, really...!

in other news, those are my favorite flowers!!!! I went to DC during cherry blossom festival and took soooo many pictures of magnolia blossoms rather than cherries (I forget the specific type of magnolia now...)
