Oh, man do I know what you mean about photos. Opening those boxes is like taking a despair pill.

And stuff. Fucking stuff. Dude.

yeah, I totally agree as well on the photos, and how stuff seems to reproduce like bunny rabbits.

AND, I had to comment, that what I would try to do with mix tapes (which I actually have a ton of because up until a year ago-maybe 2? when the radio stopped working completely, all I could play in my car were cassette tapes) was to figure out what part of the song it was when it stopped, and then start recording from then... it would usually consist of only half a chorus or so repeating (which I always found humorous), but it took WAY too much effort.

Yeah, it seems like there's some highly complex equations in there somewhere about if 67% of the song was already done by the time the tape ran out, then you could just omit the last bit, unless it's an awesome last bit, in which case it's still irritating to repeat it--unless your labor intensive method is employed. Mix tapes were a little easier than dubbing a whole album, because strange little short songs and snippets could fill those last few minutes that wouldn't hold a full-length masterpiece, which added to the overall quirk level of the mix in a good way.

Photos... oy! You are a hero for getting this much clutter undone, but attempting photo wrangling pushes you over into the super category for sure ( ... )

I'm seriously considering scanning all the wedding photos that people wanted copies of, putting them up on Flickr, and calling it a day. Is that cheating? (Of course, that's going to take tons of time in its own right...) Yargh.

I'm only letting myself attempt to go thru photos in brief bursts of inspiration. Beyond that, really not a priority. My guess is I'll succeed in scrambling them even worse than they are now, then abandon it for the archeologists of the future to worry about!

Ah, those poor archaeologists of the future! What in the world will they think of us?!

Yes, the scanning will definitely have to happen for us too. It is kind of a pain. Oh well.
