I've never actually seen the movie! Just snippets of a song or two. Time to hit the library, clearly...
I actually have no idea what the Suffragette City song is even about. "Don't lean on me man, 'cause you can't afford the ticket, I'm back on Suffragette City?" Clueless!
I like that this has a coat & dress combo, but the hobble-skirt shape is not so useful for...moving around and stuff. http://www.pastpatterns.com/1880p.html
May Russell and E Hall were in jail, no? I doubt they felt too glamorous in there. It's mind-boggling to think that they never would have thought that in this century, we'd be admiring their fashion and outfits, especially at their least finest moments. Bobs are really hard to maintain and keep- they require a lot of blowdrying and styling- it's too much for me though I get tempted sometimes. I feel I'll eventually have to cut my hair short when I'm older anyway, so, meanwhile, keep some locks.
Russell and Hall were in jail, but if I remember right they were jailed for feminist issues--helping friends get abortions. So the "how do I dress like a suffragette" thing is kind of relevant here: This is what a feminist looked like, to quote the t-shirt.
(But yes, it is is weird to be admiring their shoes and the trim on their jackets by way of mug shots!)

Though I sure like how Seu Jorge re-did the song, totally different mood.

Again, not as useful for biking, but cool hobble-skirt with wacky shelf pockets

Bifurcated skirt from 1922! Now that's more practical.

Clearly, I could do this all day. A few more notes on gratuitous pretty 20s frocks, then off to be productive!
