What's to think about? Do it.

I would if I had gas in this house... but I'm paying for Wind generated electricity, so even with a conventional electric water heater, I'm still not freeing carbon to heat water, so I'm ok with it.

I'm not sold on Heat Pump water heaters, but I had an idea... Why not combine the Fridge and the Water Heater... suck the heat out of the Fridge and dump it in the water?
