Pillow Forts Can't Keep Out Insecurity.
Sho wearily rubbed his eyes as he tried to concentrate on the book in front of him. It wasn't nearly as boring as some of the articles he had to read for News Zero, but he was still having trouble staying on task. Eyes going unfocused, Sho's mind drifted back over the past twenty-four hours. The insane craziness that was the pickle party ending with... kisses and cuddling with Shun, something that he had been longing for more than anything else. The pencil slipped from between his fingers at the memory of that first kiss. Their bodies pressed flush against each other. The slow dance of their exploring tongues. Trailing kisses along his jaw, neck and collarbone. Shun's warm hand drifting across his bare back, teasing fingers dipping below the waistband of his jeans. Squeezing his eyes shut, Sho swallowed heavily. This was not the time to be thinking of these things. He had work to do before his meeting in the morning.
Sho picked up his pencil again, tapping the eraser against the page as he tried to focus on the words. He was quickly distracted from the task by a beep from his computer, notifying him of a twitter update. Sho glanced over and paused as he saw it was from Shun. It seemed that the other was having just as much trouble sleeping. Sho quickly sent off a reply. Knowing that his concentration was completely shot at this point, he gazed out the window and allowed his mind to wander back to the time he had spent with Shun.
Waking up that morning with Shun's arms around him had felt like he was dreaming. It was perfect, beyond perfect. Things felt more natural with Shun than he could ever remember being with anyone else. But... he still didn't know if the other felt the same way. They were both more than a little drunk that night, making Sho pushier than he would have been normally and possibly making Shun more receptive to Sho's attention. The fact that Shun didn't kick Sho out of his bed, or even his apartment, first thing in the morning was remarkable enough, but Sho just attributed that to the fact that Shun was a nice guy and, well, Sho's offer to help clean probably helped. Now that he was back at home, he feared that reality was setting in, that his drunken actions had ruined his friendship with Shun.
Another ding from his computer pulled Sho's attention away from his toxic thoughts. He allowed himself a relieved smile as he saw Shun's latest reply ordering him to get some sleep. Maybe... just, maybe he hadn't ruined everything after all. Clinging to that little ray of hope, he closed his book and climbed into bed. His last thought of the night was of Shun, a hopeful smile on his face as he drifted off to sleep, a pillow hugged tightly to his body.
