I've similar luck while watching. Fortunately for the Jets, I forgot what day of the week it was, til I checked some stuff online and saw that they won. Which in turn made me very happy, and probably less stress than if I watched.

I was so thinking about you last night. I didn't see any of the game until we got home, almost 10:30. Jets were up 24-13. Awesome! (I strongly dislike the Pats.) I start watching the game, they start losing their lead, and in the last second the Pats tied it. Dammit!! By this time I'm dead tired, and I fall asleep just as OT starts. Then the Jets win.
So, I have to apologize, because maybe I was channeling your jinx!

You should read skinners article on superstition in the pigeon. http://psychclassics.yorku.ca/Skinner/Pigeon/ maybe if you see them live they are more likely to win because it is a home game.
also i liked the star trek reference.
