01. Name: Meha
02. How did you find out about Hogwarts Hallows? a few people over at HiH
03. Why do you want to join this community? Because each Sorting community has different events and things, and there's really nothing wrong with wanting to see where you'd be sorted.

||MIRROR OF ERISED||

04. You are eleven years old and you've just received a Hogwarts letter. How do you react?
Well, I've been expecting it. I guess I don't have to worry about college now.

05. In which wizarding activities or clubs do you think you would be interested?
Quidditch, the Dueling Club, I'd like to be a prefect. If Hogwarts had a school newspaper, I'd be there.

06. What makes a person deserving of your respect?
Having a solid opinion on things. When someone asks you for your opinion, you give it without shame. And you don't change it, ever, unless it's about a person who has gone through some significant changes or something has happened that made you seriously re-think it. Also, never apologize for what you believe in, unless you're seriously out of line. Opinions are ours to be had and, while this doesn't mean we go and shove them down other's throats, it's important to stand firm.

07. What is your boggart, and what would you do to make it ridiculous?
My boggart is the dead body of the love of my life. Or either one of my parents. To make it ridiculous (ridikkulus?), I'd probably make it my chemistry teacher in a prom dress. He's a male, btw, so I'm not being rude. :D

08. What would you see in the Mirror of Erised?
The love of my life. And a white doctor's jacket from Columbia Pres. I love him, but I need the jacket; it would signify my position as a surgeon at Columbia Pres! :D

09. Which element (fire, earth, air, water) do you think best represents you?
Fire, definitely. It's stronger than Earth and Air, can burn those who get in it's way, but can be helpful to those who use it properly and treat it right. I'd like to think of myself as a passionate person, something that fire embodies. Also, it can be taken as a metaphor. I can burn people that get in my way when I'm determined to do something, but if you're not out to get me (say someone's using a campfire, or at a Hindu wedding), I cannot hurt you. Fire can be a dangerous thing, but only when used wrong or when out of hand.

10. What do you think are your top five positive characteristics?
01. I am persistent. If I really want something, I will find a way to get it. More often than not, I stay inside my moral limits, but twice in my life I have gone against my conscience. My persistence and dedication make me an ambitious person (or maybe it's the other way around), and I strive to set goals and reach them.

02. Honesty. I'm honest. At times I can be too blunt, but I try very hard to make sure that I don't hurt people's feelings. However, whenever I know something that can be helpful to someone else in any way, I let them know. Unless it's a secret; some are just not mine to tell.

03. Intelligence. I am intelligent. This is not me being cocky, this is me saying that I love to read and I love to learn and I am taking advanced classes and doing well. I have a life and I go out and have fun, too, but I go by work hard, play hard, and when I work hard, I actually work hard.

04. People skills. As unlikely as it sounds, I am a people person. I love connecting with others, finding out what we have in common. Meeting new people, keeping in touch with old friends. I'm honest and open, loud and outgoing, and I've been told that I'm very easygoing.

05. I'm cautious. I can be manipulative or rude or fly off the handle with my temper, but I've long since learnt to keep my temper in check and not to flat out assume things. I think things over until I know exactly what's going on, and I never open my mouth unless I'm armed with information, unless I'm extremely angry. Which rarely happens unless you happen to be my ex-boyfriend.

11. What do you think are your top five negative characteristics?
01. Manipulation. This only stands for my three best friends, but nevertheless, it stands. I know what makes them tick and how they think, and by this point, it's really easy to see when they're making bad decisions. It's also easy to convince them that it's their idea to not do what they think they want to do. To the general public at large, i'm good at convincing people. Sometimes it's for their benefit, other times it backfires. By estimation, it goes 60/40 towards good results.

02. Emotional. I can be very emotional, taking things too personally. There have been times when people have said things that were supposed to be compliments that I didn't feel were compliments; I was butthurt for a few days until I had some sense slapped into me, but it still happens that I can take things the wrong way.

03. I'm curious. As in, I shove my nose into other people's business. At least, I used to. I still pick up on things when people say key words, but I fight down the urge to ask. I've also stopped matchmaking, even though I used to do that a lot. I messed with a lot of people's love lives, and even though most of them are happy right now, some aren't.

04. I have my walls up. When you first meet me, I am a sarcastic, cynical person. There are reasons for that. You may think I am being rude, for which I apologize as that is not my intention, but I am very careful about who I actually let in. I'm here to make friends though, so I'm hoping that's not a problem. By the way, I don't start conversations with "I hate you." I start nice and friendly, and I stay nice and friendly. I just tend to be sarcastic and witty.

05.I'm vain. At first glance, I do judge people by their covers. Don't get me wrong, I do stick around to discover the insides, but a lot of times, I judge people by how well they present themselves and how happy they look. Generally, I'm judgemental like that. But I'm not usually judgemental otherwise.

12. If you could get rid of one of your personality traits and pick a trait you don't consider yourself to have instead, what would you get rid of and what new one would you pick? Why?
I understand that I'm supposed to answer every question, so I apologize in advance if you don't feel that this is a suitable answer. I wouldn't change anything about myself. I love myself for who I am. I'm not narcissistic, but I do consider myself pretty, funny, with wonderful friends and family. I may have some issues and insecurities and I'm doubtless that there are traits of mine that people hate, but I wouldn't be me without them.

13. If you were a wizard in the Harry Potter world, what would your post-Hogwarts game plan be?
Healing school, then working at St. Mungo's, save some money, and then join whichever the wizarding equivalent of Doctors Without Borders existed. I'd stay in DWB until I was 24 and then come back to England, continue working in the hospital, get married, start a family, live life (while still working at Mungo's.)

14. What do the Harry Potter books mean to you?
They mean memories of my childhood. The end of the Harry Potter era (books AND movies) signifies the end of the first seventeen years of my life. I started reading the books in the first grade, and the last movie is coming out just before my senior year of high school, so I associate the series with childhood. With the books, I identify certain events in my life, like when we moved into the new house and started remodeling the place, I was reading the seventh book after it just came out. I remember my first date watching the sixth movie, having a reading competition with my friend to see who could read the most of the fourth book the fastest. Within those pages, I remember everything. Every single memory of countless summers re-reading those books.

15. Who is your favourite character in the Harry Potter series?
Draco, because he's so relatable, to me at least. I don't think that I'd be impressed with him if he was a person, or that I'd be his friend, but reading the books, I feel like Draco is the character that seemed like an actual person. He was flawed, really flawed, but he dealt with it. He overcame familial pressures and old prejudices, which is more difficult than most people think. As an eleven-year-old who thought the world was at his fingertips, he reacted to Harry's rejection as anyone I know would have. His teasing and taunting of Harry may have been wrong, but it was not without reason. I went through the same thing, getting rejected by someone who I thought would HAVE to accept me. I reacted badly. My sixth year (Junior year) I was just as stupid and reckless as Draco, making mistakes, hiding things, lying, succumbing to the pressure. I feel like even though I wasn't in a life or death situation, I know what he was going through. The fact that at the end of the series he helps to save Harry's life in his own twisted way, that he has the courage to pick up the pieces of his broken family, get married, have a son and send the kid to Hogwarts, where he knows people don't like him, it makes me think that people can be redeemable. That even if they make bad choices and are cold-hearted, like me, there is hope for them.

16. Who is your least favourite character in the series? Do not pick Umbridge. She was written to be hated.
Lockhart. I hate pretentious people who believe that everyone should worship them for some measly little act. Okay, he wrote some books. So have five hundred others. Why aren't THEY on the cover of the Daily Prophet? Not to mention all the stuff he pulled down in the Chamber of Secrets. No matter WHO you are, you aren't God. Therefore, you don't have the right to decide who lives or dies.

17. If you could trade lives with one HP character for a day, who would it be?
Luna Lovegood! She's amusing and unique and has such a great outlook on things. Some might say that she's weird, but I personally feel that if I were in the Wizarding World, I would want the view of someone who looks at it in a different way every day, rather than the norm, like most other witches and wizards.

18. You have to pick four subjects to study for your NEWTs. What are they?
Potions, Transfiguration, Charms, DADA. As I've said before, I'd want to be a Healer, and these are four of the five subjects necessary.

19. Who are your favourite and least favourite Hogwarts professors? Why?
Favorite: McGonagall. She's strict and doesn't play favorites, so she'd be sure to keep us all in check. Plus, she really knows her stuff. I'd consider McGonagall one of the best in her field, and who better to learn from than the best? She also would be a strong female role model, someone who can hold her own in battle and is considered just as much a force to be reckoned with as your mother. I have a feeling I'd be able to trust her, no matter what House I'd be Sorted into.

Least: Binns. History is one of my favorite subjects; I love it because I think it's interesting. Any teacher who can make history, inclusive of all of it's wars and hostile takeovers, would be my least favorite teacher.

20. Each Hogwarts founder owned a prized possession. Imagine that these possessions were symbolic of these founders’ values. Explain how these objects might exemplify the traits of their owner’s house.
• Godric Gryffindor’s Sword: Swords are a weapon that very few can use properly to their advantage. You have to either be well trained or extremely brave to try to use one, and Gryffindor does support the brave and courageous.

• Salazar Slytherin’s Locket: It's charmed so that only a Parselmouth could open it, promoting exclusivity. Parselmouths are generally associated with The Dark Arts, something that Slytherin (before the Second Wizarding War) also did. Also, since most Slytherins care about blood status and money and general rich people things, I'd like to point out that the locket is made out of solid gold and, more than likely, has emeralds on it as well, which just adds to the "rich, Dark Arts" centered motif Slytherin's got going on.

• Rowena Ravenclaw’s Diadem: The Diadem is a peice of jewelry (diamond), for the head. Basically, it's sort of a dressing up for the head, publicizing the best asset of the Ravenclaw. If you've got really nice hair, you wear it down. Nice eyes, you wear some eye makeup. Nice legs, you wear shorts. If you have a really intelligent brain, then you wear the diadem.

• Helga Hufflepuff’s Cup: The gold cup is rumored to be one of the utensils that Helga Hufflepuff used to cook in the kitchens, along with the house elves. Hufflepuffs seem like they'd be willing enough (nice enough, friendly enough, un-prejudiced enough) to cook in the kitchens next to the house elves to help out.

21. Describe the canon house qualities that you feel accurately reflect you. Please try to include traits from each of the four houses.
• Gryffindor: Like Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Neville have shown, being stubborn is a very Gryffindor quality. As is courage, loyalty, and putting others before yourself. I stand up for what I belief in, I'm not afraid to fight for what my opinions are. If you are my friend, and I love you, no matter what it is you need me for, I will be there for you, without any expectations. I put others before myself, especially when I know something is important to someone other than me.

• Slytherin: I have a moral code and a conscience that I do adhere to, but I've lied and hid things from people and if you get on my bad side, I will be rude to you. I can be manipulative and I can convince people to do things for me. My ambition gets in the way of a lot of things, including my ability to put others before myself.

• Ravenclaw: I love to learn, to read, the explore. I am very focused on my future, I am effient, and I plan like crazy. I'd rather be known for my intelligence than anything else, and while I can be at times lazy, I am considered smart. Among other things, the desire to learn about the unknown overwhelms me. I have wanderlust, and I can't wait to get out and go to new places, travel the world for a year or two, and learn all I can about all types of medicines and diseases, architecture and writing, old languages and arts.

• Hufflepuff: I am very loyal to those that I'm close to, and I can be a good friend. I'd like to help save the world, one life at a time.

22. Which house do you feel the least affinity towards?
Hufflepuff, simply because I feel I have too much fire and ambition in me to be part of a House that is known for its' kindness and helpfulness. I want to be seen as someone strong and smart, no matter which House that may be, and I feel like I wouldn't fit in with the other Puffs. I'm too opinionated, too loud, just...simply too much.
