Buddhism is not a traditional religion in the sense there is no God who loves, punishes, and creates "rules" to follow. Buddhism, I can safely say, is one of the only ways of life where peace is actually achieved and sustained by its members ( ... )

I agree with you, Dave, when you say that Maher chose the most ridiculous examples--that he made it too easy ( ... )

my two cents in two words:

"religious fanaticism"

look at Heather's original post. please insert "religious fanaticism" in the spot where Heather misuses the unqualified term "religion" in reference to Religilous' concluding thesis, and then see how you feel...

(a lot more than two words, oops)

and oh, i was really disappointed in this movie overall (C+). it did a poor job of making me laugh WHILE making me think. there was some laughter and almost NO THOUGHT. guess who recommended it? the person's name starts with a "DA" and ends with "VE". =)

no offense intended. yes, "bear vs. shark" still comes with high recommendations...and does not require live journal posts.

You can't tell me that you honestly think that technology has hurt art, i feel it is quite the opposite.

Example: it wasn't until the advent of decent computer processors that recording music in the home was almost unheard of, unless you could afford a tape machine and the miles and miles of tape it takes to create a song/album/composition. Now its only a few bites and you can create an album or song that is more lush and innovative in ones home. Does it water it down with bad quality stuff, yes, but does it give the average joe a chance at making there "art" heard.

And my take on religion is simple, everyone has their own personal take on it, and thats what religion should be, i hate when people try and force what they think is right on others. Its almost like trying to argue that someone's opinion is wrong.

I still dislike Bill, hes pompous and arrogant and i won't listen to someone who thinks that they are better than me for thinking/liking what i like.
